|How often do you need to De-Nut Coconuts?|
As with the Queen palm and most other species of palms, it is dependent on the health and vigour of the individual palm. Generally we prune and de-nut Coconuts every 6 to 12 months. |Should you use climbing spikes on Palms?|
Palms are not trees; they are actually in the grass family. Palms do not have a cambian layer. This means that wounds to the trunk of a palm do not heal. In fact a hole made in a palm will likely get bigger over time. These holes compromise the structure of the trunk and open the inner layers to infection and infestation. In fact, the fatal ‘heart rot’ disease that is destroying so many palms can be spread through spiking. In addition, the trunk holes ruin the pristine beauty of this most giant grass plant.
|Do you mulch the palm or tree waste?|
Yes we do. We mulch all palm and tree waste and it may be left on site for free. Mulching has many benefits for your garden so we recommended that we leave it on site for you to use.
|Do you sell and deliver Mulch?|
Yes we do.
